Wickes Reviews

Wickes has a solid Trustpilot star rating of 3.8, with more than half of its reviews rating it as ‘excellent’. Examples of a few customer reviews are below:

‘After having a bad experience with another company, we visited Wickes to consider a new fully fitted kitchen. We were greeted by Sam Godwin in the Fareham branch, and he quickly gained our trust and created what was to become our ‘dream kitchen’. From this point on, our experience was amazing, kept in the loop with everything. We prepared for a mess whilst fitting the kitchen but had the most amazing fitter – Stuart Parker. The attention to detail and finish was amazing. Our kitchen has made our home amazingly different, and we now spend lots of time in it. I cannot recommend Sam Godwin, Stuart Parker, and Wickes enough for any home improvement.’ —Tracy Barrow via Trustpilot

‘Tahir was very helpful through the whole design and installation process. He suggested the best layout to make the most of the available space, suggested the best appliances based on quality-budget, and followed the project through until installation to make sure everything was ok. I’m very pleased with the customer service at Wickes, the installers (Daniel at London Profitters) and the overall quality and functionality of the kitchen. Highly recommended!’

—Wilberth Solano Alvarez via Trustpilot

Some reviews are more mixed, however:

‘We decided in August to use Wickes for our new kitchen and have it installed by them. The planning went smoothly, and we paid over £7000 (it’s not a big kitchen). The fitter came and did his survey, and we discussed extra work that needed to be paid for separately. Things started to go downhill when I found out we were to have a different installation team, and he did not meet his install date, in fact it was 2 weeks later that they started. By this time, the new kitchen (115 boxes) had been sitting in my bare kitchen for those 2 weeks. I had already by this time removed my old kitchen myself so other trades could get started. The team eventually turned up and did a very efficient, professional job, and we were very pleased with the finished product. The store was excellent in sorting out any problems we encountered along the way.’ —Geoffrey Probert via Trustpilot

‘From design to the finished product, very good service. The only thing that lets this company down is the after-sales service. There is none, unfortunately. After asking a few questions for help and advice we are still left in limbo. We paid a lot of money for our kitchen, and would expect a better service than what we are getting. Very sad about this because as I have said, everything else was good.’ —Paul Buxton via Trustpilot

Wickes Kitchen Ranges

There are several types of kitchen ranges:

  • J-Pull: This style includes the Camden and Sofia kitchens, both of which have flat doors with curved finger pulls at the top to open them. These styles are available in three dark shades and six neutrals.
  • Shaker: Five Shaker-style kitchens make up this category, some with a more traditional look (e.g., Kendal, Heritage) to their framed doors, and others with modern touches (e.g., Milton, Tiverton, Chester), with colours beyond neutral (e.g., Forest Green, Cloudy Blue).
  • Slab: A trio of kitchens with flat-fronted doors with handles are on offer: two glossy options (Glencoe, Esker) and one matte (Melrose), all in neutral shades except Azure and Carbon.
  • Intelliga: In the ‘truly handleless’ range, each Intelliga kitchen has a rail at the top of the kitchen cabinet, allowing a flat-fronted door to be pulled open and drawers that also open with a pull or a push. Two kitchens—Intelliga Glencoe and Intelliga Esker—fit this category and come in three neutral shades or Azure.
  • Ready-to-fit: These five ranges are primarily modern and flat-fronted, with only Shaker-style Ohio as a five-piece door.

Wickes Pricing and Payment

Each showroom kitchen comes with a guide to its price bracket, from more affordable kitchens, such as Kendal, to the pricier Intelliga ranges. Kendal units start from £1,369 based on an eight-unit example, but average prices will vary based on worktop and appliance choices.

The ready-to-fit range is better for those on a tight budget, with prices for the cheapest, Dakota, starting from £716 for eight units.

Wickes offers flexible payment options—including credit cards, buy now, pay later plans, and monthly payment plans from 12 to 48 months.

Wickes Guarantees

Wickes provides several guarantees.

  • 20-year product guarantee: On units, hinges, and drawer runners
  • 10-year product guarantee: On heavy-use doors and drawer fronts
  • Two-year workmanship guarantee: On installations by a Wickes Approved Installer

Wickes Delivery Options

Wickes provides a speedy delivery service—for example, if you need your kitchen in a hurry, Wickes can deliver its showroom ranges within 14 days once the design is finalised. You’ll receive a delivery date in advance, and your delivery driver will bring the kitchen directly into your home unless otherwise specified (such as for COVID-19 shielding reasons).

Wickes Accessories

Wickes differs from some retailers in its range of sundry items available to complete your dream scheme. These include flooring, tiling, paint, lighting, and other accessories. As you’d expect, it also supplies worktops, cooker hoods, splashbacks, sinks, taps, and storage solutions.

The range for some of its collections can be limited. For example, there are fewer appliance brands and a narrower choice of worktop types than you might be able to source through an independent showroom. However, for most categories, there’s enough choice without being overwhelming.

Our Recommendation

Wickes’s wide choice of kitchen styles and colours means it’ll appeal to many buyers—from those who prize practicality and value for money to households seeking their dream kitchen. So whether your budget is £3,000 or £13,000, Wickes can provide a stylish design.

However, it’s always a good idea to shop around before settling on a kitchen—be sure to request quotes from at least three or four providers before choosing. Check out our handy form at the bottom of the page to start your kitchen research.
