The Premium Termite Plan also provides ongoing pest control beyond your termite infestation.
  • Ticks: Terminix offers one-time tick treatments and monthly servicing during tick season. The products used include both liquid and granular treatment methods.
  • Wasps: Many local branches of Terminix will treat for wasps, remove nests, and do the same for hornets and yellowjackets if they are present.
  • Wildlife control: Like many other services, a Terminix wildlife control service will identify where wildlife is entering your property and the type of creature, if needed. From there, the provider will create a personalized plan, close entry points, and perform annual inspections for as long as you maintain your plan.

Terminix does not treat a few common types of pests under its general plan, notably excluding brown recluse spiders, black widows, fleas, carpenter ants, fire ants, pharaoh ants, and tawny crazy ants.

Terminix Reservice Guarantee

A reservice guarantee is a promise to come to your home between pest control treatments if the covered pest is not eliminated. For instance, if you see a resurgence of insects in your home between quarterly cockroach treatment services, the provider would follow up and reapply treatment. Note that this satisfaction guarantee only applies to pests covered under your plan.

Terminix does offer a reservice guarantee if your plan’s covered pests reemerge. When secret-shopping Terminix’s services, we were told by a customer service representative that technicians would continue to return until the customer is 100% satisfied. Terminix does not offer this reservice guarantee after you end your plan with the provider.

Terminix Pricing

We secret-shopped for a Terminix pest management plan for a four-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot townhouse in New York City. We were quoted $99 for the initial service for a general pest control plan and then $159 every three months for quarterly service. Terminix also offers the option to pay for your treatment plan monthly.

For most á la carte services, Terminix will need to complete a free inspection before giving a quote. These one-off services are also available to customers with a general plan for an additional cost. Since Terminix serves customers through local branches, pricing may vary by your location and home size.

On the other hand, many positive reviews praised Terminix technicians‘ professional and polite demeanor. Here’s what Terminix customer reviews said:

“Have used Terminix for 32 years to protect our property. They have always taken good care of us! And their service techs are always courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.” —Jim M. via Google Reviews

“Easily able to schedule an extra service to take care of a wasp nest that I noticed hidden in a window frame. My technician did an outstanding job of taking care of the nest that I knew of in addition to locating two others and taking those down as well. Extremely satisfied!” —John M. via Google Reviews

“They came and did the initial outside inspection but have tried to get them to come back for inside. Have set up three appointments and no show without a call. Not good customer service.” —Ernie C. via Google Reviews

“My girlfriend had them come out for mosquito control while I was home, and I spoke to the guy doing the job. He stated what he was about to do and also that if there were still any mosquito problems to call and they would come back out free of charge. When my girlfriend scheduled that appointment to come back out, they suddenly cancel[ed] it the day before.” —Tony M. via Google Reviews

Our Recommendation

Terminix emerged as one of the best pest control options, thanks to its 24/7 availability, reservicing guarantee, wide range of treatments, and customer satisfaction.

If you’d prefer a provider with more than 120 years of experience and a swift money-back guarantee, we also like Orkin for its reliable service. Finally, Hawx is a newer provider in the pest control industry with more limited state availability and a generally solid reputation for its customer service.

Terminix FAQ

How We Chose the Top Pest Control Companies

Our pest control research process starts with combining takeaways from a deep analysis of more than 1,000 customer reviews on third-party websites, such as Yelp, Google Reviews, Best Company, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and listening to more than 100 customer service call recordings from large pest control brands.

From there, we compile a list of important factors that commonly come up in that customer feedback, build out a scoring tool based on those factors, and analyze each company to find how they stack up against each other. For instance, companies that offer more guarantees for their service earned more points than others, and pest control plans with a larger range of covered pests earned more points than ones with fewer.

After analyzing dozens of residential and commercial pest control businesses through this process, we were able to determine the best pest control companies on the market that offer services in a wide range of states across the country to help our readers find the best professional near them.
