Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s prewar Gramercy Park pied-à-terre is just as fun and full of personality as you might imagine—and now it’s on the market for $1.495 million. The cozy unit, which spans approximately 900 square feet, features one bedroom and two bathrooms, with tons of the building’s original 1930s detailing still intact: beamed ceilings, French doors, glass doorknobs, and even the original hardwood floors, stained a deep shade of espresso.
The unit, which Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita, purchased for $1,232,500 in early 2015, features an entrance hall that opens out onto the living room. Most of the walls are painted a cool turquoise. Two sets of French doors lead off the living room—one set leads to a cozy, thick-cushioned reading nook lined with dark patterned wallpaper (the pattern appears to be of a handlebar mustache), while the other leads into the master bedroom.
The master bedroom is slightly larger than the living room, and includes two walk-in closets (one of which can be converted into a windowed office behind yet another set of French doors) and a spacious bathroom featuring a marble-topped double-sink vanity and a generously sized linen closet. Amenities in the building include a live-in super, a gym, a laundry room, and bike storage, which might explain the $1,877-a-month maintenance fees. The couple is also offering the option to buy the home completely furnished for an additional, undisclosed amount. Ferguson and Mikita also own a 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival–style home in Los Angeles in the hip Los Feliz area, which they bought in the fall of 2013 for $4.55 million.
