Fans worldwide cried out when Betty White died on New Year’s Eve of 2021, just two weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Though only a few months have gone by, one of White’s homes, a beachside home in Carmel, California, has already sold. And now, her primary residence, in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, has officially been listed.
Per Dirt, White and her late husband Allen Ludden commissioned the Carmel traditional-style home in 1981, and though Ludden didn’t live to see its completion, it’s clear after 40 years of ownership that White enjoyed it plenty. All wood and stone, the four bedroom, five bathroom home was perfectly designed for its beachside placement, both in its laid back style and with the excess of backside windows that allowed a crisp view of the ocean from many of its rooms. The 3,621 square foot home found a buyer within two weeks at a price of $10.775 million—nearly three million above asking.
